Improving the environment in Calderdale is a priority for this Council. It is fundamental to our Vision 2024 ambition of the place we want to be in the future.
This dashboard displays the live feed from the air quality stations around Calderdale measuring NO2, PM2.5 and PM10. All our measurements are expressed in micrograms per cubic metre.
Both PM10 and PM2.5 are associated with combustion (including engines) but PM2.5 has a significant long range component. This means that the sources can be a long way from where the concentrations are measured. PM2.5 is of particular interest because the fine particles can pass through the lungs and into the bloodstream.
We are currently having issues with the monitoring sensors at all three sites, we will start to record the data as soon as possible.
For historical data from all three monitoring stations, see the Air quality monitoring station datasets.
